Job Objectives:
General objective:

- To build the capacity of partners on the integrated management of severe acute malnutrition (IM-SAM) at state and county levels.

Specific objectives & Activities:

Objective 1: To ensure the National Guidelines and field tools are available and disseminated as necessary
- To design training tools for trainings and to be used in health facilities (PHCC/PHCUs) facilities.
- To participate in any relevant meetings devoted to the definition of the training tools for the dissemination of the National Guidelines on the Integrated Management of Severe Acute Malnutrition.
- To participate in any relevant meetings devoted to the design of the capacity building approach the state.

Objective 2: To ensure that all targeted facilities and MoH staffs are trained on the management of severe acute malnutrition and that all trained facilities provide nutritional treatment of acceptable quality.
- To conduct theoretical training for all key staffs in targeted PHCCs and PHCUs, and key staffs in the ministry of health and local partners on the management of severe acute malnutrition.
- To define the modalities of on the job training (design the curriculum, as well as objectives to be reach on regular bases) and indicators of evaluation
- To implement on-the-job training in each targeted facility
- To organise a follow up of trained staff and provide technical support, in collaboration with the state MOH nutrition focal person.
- To ensure that the National Guidelines on IM-SAM are properly implemented and propose solutions when problem are identified, and/or program performances do not meet acceptable standards (SPHERE).
- To ensure the communication and exchange of information regarding the therapeutic program between field facilities and state level, within the Ministry of Health.

Objective 3: To ensure the recruitment, training and supervision of state and county teams for capacity building
- To ensure the recruitment and training of the team devoted to capacity building: one staff per county and one assistant at state level
- To supervise and support technically the team all along the project.
- To evaluate performance of the trained staff an agreed time interval,
- To solve any problem arising within the teams or between the team and others, and to ensure that the team has space to build its own capacity.

Objective 4: To report and capitalise on the capacity building program alongside the implementation of the project.
- To ensure monthly reporting on the capacity building program, according to the format designed with the Nutrition Coordinator. The CBP manager works under the direct supervision of the NutCo, and reports directly to him/her.
- To participate in the donor reports preparation and proposal development with supervision from the NutCo.
- To capitalise on the capacity building project (achievements, challenges, lessons learned, tools used, etc.). At the end of his mission, the CBP will produce a comprehensive report, to be validated by the Nut Co and the HoM.

Education / specific degree / special skills:
Graduate degree in Medical sciences, Nursing or Nutrition. Experience in management of malnutrition (CMAM) is mandatory.
Excellent reporting skills. Skills in Training, ToT , teaching skills, good and clear communicator
Excellent written and public communication and negotiation skills
Sufficient computer literacy and ability to use SPSS, Epi-Info, ENA etc.
Humanitarian field experience requested: YES
- At least two years in emergency nutritional programmes
- Previous experience in programme planning and implementation in large scale surveillance projects
- Will run a largely independent program and needs to operate result focussed with minimum of supervision
